Stage Combat Workshop
Friday, OCT 9, 16, 23, 30
6:00–7:00 PM
Ready to bring action to the stage? This exciting four-week workshop introduces young performers to the fundamentals of safe, believable stage combat, an essential skill for actors in both plays and musicals.
Students will learn how to create the illusion of realistic combat while keeping themselves and their scene partners safe. Throughout the workshop, they’ll explore techniques including punches and slaps (and the theatrical sound effects known as knaps), choking and escape techniques, uppercuts, hair pulls, and introductory swordplay. Along the way, they’ll build trust, coordination, body awareness, and stage presence while adding valuable new skills to their performer toolbox.
Whether your child is preparing for future productions or simply looking to expand their acting abilities, this workshop offers a fun, supportive environment to learn the art of theatrical combat.
For Middle and High School Students, ages 12-18.

Stage to Screen Workshops with Madison Juno, Theatrical Talent Agent / Head of Youth Dept at AMT
Join us for two Stage to Screen workshops led by Madison Junod, Film & TV Agent with AMT and Head of the Youth Department. Drawing from her experience in acting, casting, production, and talent representation, Madison will give students an inside look at the world of Film & TV and help them build skills and knowledge they can take beyond the stage.

Film & TV Terms – This workshop is a deep dive into the “ABC’s” of Film & TV vocabulary! From starting your training to your first day on set we’ll go through terms you’ll hear and what they really mean, and what young actors should know as they begin exploring the world of on-camera acting.
Workshop will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A. Parents are invited to observe the workshop and participate in the Q&A at the end.

Theatre vs Theatrical

Theatre vs. Theatrical – Acting for stage and acting for camera are two completely different mediums; just like painting vs. photography some of the concepts are the same, while others (especially the technology!) are completely different. Whether this is your first introduction to acting in front of a camera or something you’d like to pursue more professionally, this class is for our theatre and musical theatre performers who rock the stage and want to learn how to charm the camera! This workshop includes on camera acting with playback review.
Workshop will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A. Parents are invited to observe the workshop and participate in the Q&A at the end.
